# My first children’s book is about... OpenTelemetry

Almost a year ago I had this crazy idea of writing a children's book on OpenTelemetry. In this, I was inspired not only by my lifelong love for illustrated stories, but also by the example set by [_Gently Down the Stream_](https://www.gentlydownthe.stream/), a children's story on Apache Kafka.
