My first children’s book is about... OpenTelemetry

Posted on Oct 14, 2022

Almost a year ago I had this crazy idea of writing a children’s book on OpenTelemetry. In this, I was inspired not only by my lifelong love for illustrated stories, but also by the example set by Gently Down the Stream, a children’s story on Apache Kafka. I pitched the idea around a bit, processed some feedback, then got down to it. Now the book is online!

Writing and producing a story like this published online with Splunk’s support has been a wonderful experience. Naomi J. Carroll’s art is just perfect; she did a fantastic job at capturing the mood of the story, and I can’t recommend her enough. The book wouldn’t have happened without her support and skill.

This, too, is tech writing. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
